WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE CLASSES?

Ages 3–4 – Mini Stage

Our Mini Stage classes introduce our youngest performers to the exciting world of musical theatre through imaginative games, storytelling, singing, dancing and drama. In a fun, nurturing and encouraging environment, children build confidence, creativity and social skills while developing the foundations of performance and a love for the arts.

Ages 4-5 - RISING STAR

Our Rising Stage classes build on the foundations of musical theatre, encouraging young performers to develop their acting, singing and dancing skills through creative, engaging lessons. With a focus on confidence, teamwork and imagination, students grow as performers while having fun in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Ages 6-7 - CENTRE STAGE

Our Centre Stage classes help young performers take the next step in their musical theatre journey, developing stronger acting, singing and dancing techniques while encouraging creativity and stage confidence. Students begin to refine
their performance skills, work collaboratively with
others and grow in independence, all within a fun,
supportive and inspiring environment.

Ages 7+ – MAIN STAGE

Our Main Stage classes are designed for passionate young performers who are ready to develop their acting, singing and dancing to a higher level. Students explore more advanced performance techniques, character development and stagecraft while building confidence, resilience and teamwork through exciting rehearsals and performance opportunities in a supportive, professional environment.

To ensure every student is appropriately challenged, Main Stage is divided into three groups -
Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 - based on age
and ability, allowing each performer to
progress at their own pace.

SCREEN ACTING (AGES 9+)

Our Screen Acting classes are designed for aspiring young actors who want to develop the skills needed for TV and film. Students learn professional on-camera techniques, including script work, character development, audition skills, self-taping and set etiquette, while building confidence in front of the camera. Classes are taught using industry-standard equipment in a creative, supportive environment, giving students valuable practical experience and an insight into the world of screen acting.

LAMDA ACTING, MT & MN SCREEN ACTING AWARDS

Our exam classes offer students the opportunity to work towards nationally recognised qualifications through one-to-one or small group tuition. Whether studying LAMDA Acting, LAMDA Musical Theatre or MN Screen Acting Awards, students receive personalised coaching to develop their performance skills, confidence and technique. Lessons are tailored to each student's age, ability and exam grade, with LAMDA Grades 6+ and MN Awards Grades 6–8 contributing towards UCAS points.

Level BOOK

At Act One, we are committed to providing every student with the highest quality training and supporting their individual development. Each class follows its own carefully designed syllabus, supported by a level book that allows our teachers to track progress, skills and achievements.

Our teachers use these records to ensure every performer is developing at the right pace, receiving the appropriate challenges and building confidence in all areas of their training. By monitoring each student’s journey, we can celebrate their progress while helping them reach their full potential.
